today was the first real fall-feeling day on which I've ridden—cool (51° when I started at noon, up to 54° at the end), cloudy, and quite breezy (almost 20 mph out of the WNW).
I rode the Packard/Platt Square (the route on which I had my accident Monday). I found it a bit unnerving to ride by the intersection of Eisenhower and Industrial, since when I was last there (a little before 1 p.m. on Monday), I was being loaded into an ambulance after having collided with that truck. But I told myself (rather sternly) thata being spooked by such memories was really rather silly, and I just rode with care and experienced no problems today whatsoever.
This gave me a ride of 13.6 miles in 1:51.
