My wife, Michelle, is a band director, and as part of her duties for that role, she had to help staff the All-State auditions for students at Saline High School this morning. When I learned this last night, I made my plans for today accordingly.
Knowing that she had to work from early this morning until early afternoon, I realized that she'd emerge tired and in need of some encouragement ... so when I was up last night on my nightly bout of insomnia (around 2:30 a.m.), I prepared the following note.
Then when I rode today, I left about 9:00 a.m. in 41° conditions and rode to Marsh Park; on the way home, though, I looped down around Saline High School, found our car, and left the note on the seat for her.
This gave me a ride of 12.6 miles in 1:44.
