Yesterday I did my first outdoor ride of the year, but today I was unable to extend that trend. Yesterday's ride revealed some issues with the brakes that had developed, and, not wanting to ride in an unsafe condition, I took the trike to the dealer (Jack's, in Dearborn) this morning.
The brake issues were fairly quickly resolved. However, I asked them also to check my chain, and their gauge showed it to be more than 100% worn. I asked about replacing it, and they said they'd be happy to, but couldn't have it ready today. Since Michelle and I are going on a small getaway for a couple of days, I told them to take their time with it, and I'd pick it up Monday. So, when I got home, I rode inside on our stationary cycle (which I probably would have done anyway today, due to our high winds -- an advisory, with gusts of 50 mph), while watching the 1980 movie Somewhere in Time, which was filmed on northern Michigan's Mackinac Island.
This gave me a ride of 23.7 virtual miles in 1:44.
